Honor of Kings
Matches run 10 to 15 minutes. You can buy items anywhere on the map, so you spend almost no time away from lane, and teamfights break out early.
Wild Rift
Matches run 15 to 20 minutes. Ward placement and vision control, tight last-hitting, precise mechanics. Built for players who want PC-style depth.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Matches run 10 to 15 minutes. Turtle at 2:00, Lord at 8:00. Few timers to learn, and at 343.9 MB the smallest install of the three.
■ 1. The Real Split: Match Tempo and How Much the Clock Decides
The two biggest differences are how long a match runs and how much of the map is on a fixed timer.
Honor of Kings: Ten to fifteen minutes. The Overlord and the Tyrant both spawn at 4:00, both are replaced by Shadow versions at 10:00, and the Tempest Dragon arrives at 20:00. There is no ward war, and a full teamfight can break out two or three minutes in.
Wild Rift: Fifteen to twenty minutes. Fog of war is in play, so placing wards to hold vision is not optional. Four elemental dragons, the Rift Herald, Baron and the Elder Dragon come up in turn, which means a longer setup before anything happens.
Mobile Legends: Ten to fifteen minutes. The Turtle spawns at 2:00 and the Lord at 8:00, and the shield on the outer turrets drops at five minutes. Three timers, and the call between staying in lane and stepping to the river follows from them.
■ 2. Shop Rules and Pre-Match Setup
Honor of Kings: You can buy items anywhere on the map without recalling. Unless you are one hit from dying there is no reason to head back, so the game keeps rolling. Arcana fill 10 slots each in red, blue and green, 30 in all, levelled from 1 to 5.
Wild Rift: Buying items means recalling to the fountain. Reading the lane and picking your moment to reset is itself a skill. Runes come from four trees totalling 54: one keystone plus three minor runes.
Mobile Legends: Seven emblems, but the talents are the same on all of them; only the emblem’s own stat line differs. What does bind you is the battle spell: bring Retribution and the only boots you may buy are jungle boots. One pre-match pick sets your shop.
■ 3. Side by Side, From a Player Perspective
| Aspect | Honor of Kings | Wild Rift | Mobile Legends |
|---|---|---|---|

| Controls | Built for touch, smooth | Precise, high skill ceiling | Built for touch. Ultimates unlock at level 4, so you can commit early |
| Shop rules | Buy anywhere on the map; a recall is for healing | Fountain only, so when you reset is a judgement call | Bring Retribution and only jungle boots are available. Selling returns 60% (30% for advanced boots), or full price in the first 15 seconds |
| Art and setting | Eastern mythology, heroic, colorful | Western dark fantasy, the LoL universe | Myths and heroes from many cultures on one map, from Sun Wukong and Hayabusa to Freya and Lapu-Lapu |

Roles and lanes are assigned separately, so one does not imply the other. |
| Lanes | Five: Clash Lane (solo), Jungle, Mid Lane, Farm Lane and Roam. The roamer has no lane of their own and moves across the whole map. | Five: Top (Baron Lane), Jungle, Mid, Duo (Dragon Lane) and Support. Top and Duo sometimes swap lanes after the first turret falls or to set up for an upcoming objective. | Five: Gold Lane, EXP Lane, Mid Lane, Jungle and Roam. The map has three lanes; jungle and roam are counted alongside them. |
| Item count | 115 items in six categories (physical, magic, defense, movement, jungle, roam), with six slots. Every tier-2 boot costs 700G. | 179 items including 16 boots. Non-boot items split by price into 12 basic, 46 mid-tier and 105 core, topping out at 3,400G. Six slots, and only one item with an active effect. | 61 items with six slots. One pair of boots and one active item at a time, and unique passives that share a name do not stack — only the stronger fires. |
| Arcana / runes / emblems | 30 Arcana, 10 each in red, blue and green. You fill 10 slots per color, 30 in total, and level each one from 1 to 5, where the big jump comes at level 5. | 54 runes in four trees (Domination, Precision, Resolve, Sorcery): 13 keystones plus 41 minor runes. | 7 emblems. The talents are identical on every emblem, one from each of three tiers; only the emblem’s own stat line differs. |
| Summoner spells / battle spells | 11 spells with 30-120s cooldowns, unlocked by account level: Sprint at level 1, Flash not until level 19. Jungle items require Smite. | 9 spells with 10-150s cooldowns. Smite is the shortest at 10s; Flash and Teleport the longest at 150s. Since 7.3, Smite upgrades to 1,000 true damage once 8 stacks have been spent, and to 1,400 at 20. | 12 spells, unlocked one at a time by account level. A new account starts with Retribution only; Revitalize comes at 3, Flicker at 12 and Purify at 21. Retribution is the price of entry to the jungle. |
| Major objectives | The Overlord and the Tyrant both spawn at 4:00. From 10:00 their Shadow versions take over, and the Tempest Dragon appears at 20:00 with a team-wide shield. | Four elemental dragons (Infernal, Ocean, Mountain, Cloud), Rift Herald, Baron Nashor and the late-game Elder Dragon. | The Turtle spawns at 2:00 and returns two minutes after each kill, stopping at 8:00. The Lord arrives around 8:00 and evolves at 18:00. |
