Prioritize Skill 1, your main damage source, then level Skill 3 for mobility and Attack Speed.
Gwen Strengths
✓Max-HP percentage damage that cuts through even tanks
✓Hallowed Mist blocks ranged attacks and CC from outside
✓Strong sustain and sustained damage from her passive
Gwen Weaknesses
×No hard CC, so mobile enemies easily slip away
×Relatively weak early laning phase that must be endured
×Forced into melee range and vulnerable to sudden burst
Gwen Early Game
Build Skill 1 stacks on minions and harass so the true-damage center lands on the opponent. Until you get your Ult at level 5, avoid forced fights and focus on farming.
Gwen Mid Game
Once your core items start coming online, you become hard to stop in a 1v1. Farm gold through split pushing, and use the untargetability of Skill 2 (Hallowed Mist) to take skirmishes.
Gwen Late Game
With high sustained damage and healing, you can cut down even durable tanks in a short time. Deployed in the right spot, Skill 2 keeps ranged attacks off you. Push the frontline without hesitating.
Gwen Teamfights
Hit their frontline to heal through your passive, while firing your Ult needles so they reach the backline. Time Skill 2 for the moment heavy enemy skills come your way; that neutralizes their focus.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Using Skill 1 (Snip Snip!) without stacks
Harassing with Skill 1 (Snip Snip!) before building stacks with basic attacks is a mistake. The true-damage area is small and the damage is low, so it only wastes mana. Build the full 4 stacks on minions first, then dash in with Skill 3 and land the true-damage center on the enemy.
Gwen Combos
Stack Consumption Combo
Approach with Skill 3 at maximum (4) stacks, land the full-stack damage of Skill 1, then follow up with autos.

Needlework
⏳ 75s
First Cast: Hurl a needle that deals 35 magic damage (35 + 10%AP), slows by 35% for 1.5 seconds, and applies Thousand Cuts to all enemies hit. Needlework can be re-cast 2 additional times.
Second Cast: Fires 3 needles, dealing a total of 105 magic damage (105 + 30%AP).
Third Cast: Fires 5 needles, dealing a total of 175 magic damage (175 + 50%AP).
Gwen was among the biggest winners from Twilight and Dawn and the boot changes. This trims her in lane and in the jungle at once — with the monster modifier back to even, her clear speed drops noticeably.
Gwen leans on her enhanced attacks for steady chip damage, so a 3% larger AP ratio compounds with every item she finishes. The same ability clears the wave and pokes her lane opponent, which makes her trades easier to plan. The longer she stays swinging on the front line, the more the extra ratio adds up.
