Nidalee Early Game

Use your fast clear to get ahead in farm and invade the enemy jungle to widen the gap. Land a spear from outside vision to mark the target. Following up with the Cougar form combo makes the gank land.

Nidalee Mid Game

Around Dragon and Herald, keep throwing spears before the fight to chip enemy health. Use your mobility to move across the map. Finding enemies out of position and converting them into kills is how you get ahead.

Nidalee Late Game

Head-on teamfights are your weak point, so the ideal is to poke enemies back to base with spears before the fight starts. Remember to use Skill 3 on allies for the heal and attack speed.

Nidalee Teamfights

In teamfights, stay patient and stick to spear poke. Wait for the enemy to use their dangerous CC. When a low-health enemy slips up, pounce in Cougar form to clean up the kill.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Over-relying on Human form spears

Avoid only throwing spears (Skill 1) from the back in Human form and never diving in Cougar form. A spear hit marks the target, and the Cougar combo deals heavy burst on it. Once poke has worn them down, pounce in and take the kill.

Queen of the Jungle: Gains 10% Movement Speed in brush, increased to 30% while moving toward enemy champions. This bonus persists for 2 second(s) after leaving brush.
Hunter's Mark: Hitting champions or monsters with Javelin Toss or Bushwhack marks them as Hunted for 4 second(s). While an enemy is Hunted, they are revealed and Nidalee gains 10% Movement Speed, increased to 30% while moving toward the Hunted enemy.
The two Movement Speed bonuses stack, with a total cap of 30%.

Our take

Both defensive stats come down, so Nidalee pays more for every early skirmish she takes. Prowl also gives 5% less movement speed both in brush and when chasing a marked target, which slows her approach through the jungle and her follow-up after a spear connects. Targets now get a window to react, so landing the spear before committing matters more than ever.

Our take

Pounce loses 10 base damage at every rank, narrowing the health range Nidalee can actually finish once she commits in cougar form. Aspect of the Cougar also converts less AP into bonus AR and MR, so a heavy AP build no longer buys as much durability while transformed. Together they push her back toward whittling targets down with spears before she ever dives.

Our take

Pounce loses 15 base damage at every rank, so closing in and finishing the job in cougar form takes longer. The cooldown line is listed as a nerf as well; rank 4 stays at 1.25s while ranks 1 through 3 cycle more slowly than before. Nidalee's pattern is to pounce in, land a string of hits and leave as one motion, so early ganks and jungle chases will come up a hit short more often.

Nidalee loses a little at both ranges. The lower Base AD slows her jungle clear and softens her auto attacks, and the weaker cougar Q means more casts to finish a target once she has jumped in. Killing someone in a single dive is less reliable, which puts more weight on landing the ranged opener first and backing off when it misses.

Switching forms means choosing between reaching out at range as a human and diving in to brawl as a cougar, depending on the moment. Each form carries its own abilities, so there is more to learn than usual, but the payoff is picking your own range and role mid-fight. Right after release opponents will not know the matchup either — start by learning the distances at which switching pays off.
