Popular Lux builds in game

Magic Penetration mid build with Barrier
When playing mid and the enemy can burst you down quickly
The items are the same as build 2; the only difference is one summoner spell slot. Barrier grants a 2.5-second shield that absorbs an amount of damage scaling with your level, which helps you survive burst damage. Your Magic Penetration totals +33 and +48%, with +40% coming from Void Staff. That lets your damage get through even against enemies stacking Magic Resistance. Morellonomicon inflicts 50% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds when you deal magic damage to enemy champions.
Magic Penetration mid build with Ignite
When playing mid and the enemy team has little burst damage
The items are the same as build 1, but Ignite takes the place of Barrier. Ignite burns an enemy champion and deals true damage over 5 seconds. It also reveals the target, so you are less likely to lose sight of a fleeing enemy. Its win rate of 54.13% and popularity of 6,804 are both slightly below build 1's.
Support build that earns gold with Spectral Sickle
When playing support (same items as build 4)
When you damage an enemy champion while near an ally, Spectral Sickle consumes an orb to grant you 65 gold. You gain one orb every 30 seconds (max 3), and each use also restores 20–80 HP. Oceanid's Trident weakens the target's shields for 3 seconds when you deal ability damage to an enemy champion. The reduction caps at 45% for area-of-effect abilities and 60% for single-target abilities. The total cost is 14,600G, cheaper than the 17,150G of builds 1 and 2.
Support build with the same items as build 3
When playing support (same items as build 3)
The items and summoner spells are the same as build 3. Its 54.62% win rate is nearly level with build 3's 54.8%. Its popularity of 8,718 is lower than build 3's 28,975. Spectral Sickle upgrades once you earn 750 gold with it. Gold from your minion kills goes to the nearest ally, and you earn 50% of the bounty instead.

Skill Order (Lv 1 - 15)
Max the skill that is your main damage source and wave clear first, then strengthen your Root skill.
Lux Strengths
- ✓Long-range poke and one-combo burst from a safe distance
- ✓Strong catch potential; landing Skill 1 often leads to a kill
- ✓Skill 2's return trip shields the whole team
Lux Weaknesses
- ×No mobility; melts quickly once an assassin gets close
- ×Defenseless while her skills are on cooldown
- ×All skills are skillshots; missing them leaves her with nothing
Lux Early Game
Use Skill 3's range to harass from where the enemy cannot answer. When the Skill 1 root lands, follow right away with Skill 3 and an auto-attack. That triggers the passive for heavy damage.
Lux Mid Game
Hide in a brush and wait for the enemy. When someone walks in carelessly, take them down with the full Skill 1 into 3 into Ult combo. Your poke before objectives also applies strong pressure.
Lux Late Game
Late game Ult comes back quickly. Use it freely for wave clear and for checking suspicious brushes. The baseline is to hold the safest position at the very back where the enemy cannot reach you.
Lux Teamfights
Spread Skill 2's shield across your team and keep firing skills from a safe spot. When an ally lands CC, hit the enemy with Ult from off-screen to take them out together.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
Wasting Skill 1 and exposing yourself
Skill 1 starts your combo, but it is also your only way to protect yourself from a dive. If you throw it out carelessly and miss, enemy assassins see the opening and take you down. Fire it only when it is sure to land or when chaining onto ally CC.
Lux Combos
Basic Harass
Land Skill 3 to detonate it, then proc the passive with an auto.
One-Shot Combo
Root with Skill 1, then unload Skill 3 and Ult together for instant burst.
