Popular Yasuo builds in game

Taken from the in-game loadout screen as of 2026-10-07. The pick count and win rate are shown exactly as the game reports them.

Build 1TopWin rate 52.29%Picks 1,755

Armor, Magic Resistance and Max Health to outlast fights

When you play top lane (Baron Lane)

Attack Damage +170 and Critical Rate +50% are both lower than builds 2 and 3 (+250 and +75%). In exchange, this build carries +95 Armor, +90 Magic Resistance and +300 Max Health. Amaranth's Twinguard stacks each second while in combat with enemy champions, and at 5 stacks grants 30% more Armor and Magic Resistance. Death's Dance heals you for 90% of your bonus Attack Damage when a champion you damaged within the last 3 seconds dies. Mercurial Scimitar's active removes crowd control effects from you (60 second cooldown; cannot be used while airborne or knocked back).

Build 2MidWin rate 53.08%Picks 1,795

Damage build leaning on Attack Damage and Armor Penetration

When you play mid lane (same items as build 3)

With +250 Attack Damage, +75% Critical Rate and +30% Armor Penetration, this build leans toward damage. Unlike build 1, its only defensive stat is +40 Armor, with no Magic Resistance or Max Health. Blade of the Ruined King adds physical damage based on the target's current Health to basic attacks, so it hits harder against targets with more Health. Mortal Reminder applies 50% Grievous Wounds for 3 seconds when you deal physical damage to enemy champions. With few defensive stats, this build holds out in fights with the Immortal Shieldbow shield and the Guardian Angel revive.

Build 3MidWin rate 52.1%Picks 16,294

Same damage build as build 2, with the highest popularity

When you play mid lane (same items as build 2)

The items and summoner spells (Flash and Ignite) are exactly the same as build 2. Popularity is 16,294, higher than build 2 at 1,795, while the win rate is 52.1%, lower than build 2 at 53.08%.

Yasuo Strengths

  • ✓High mobility by dashing through minion waves
  • ✓Projectile blocking with Skill 2 (Wind Wall)
  • ✓Conditional AoE knock-up and high armor penetration

Yasuo Weaknesses

  • ×Melee fighter who suffers against mage poke
  • ×Ult needs a knocked-up target
  • ×Depends heavily on mechanics and decision-making

Yasuo Early Game

Early on, use your mobility through minions to dash in with Skill 3 for short trades. Step forward only while your Passive shield is charged. Keeping to that rule limits unnecessary damage and lets you control the lane.

Yasuo Mid Game

Finishing your critical items in the mid game is Yasuo's biggest power spike. Block key enemy skills with Wind Wall. Then widen the gap through side-lane split pushing and small skirmishes.

Yasuo Late Game

With full items your damage is high, but the risk of dying instantly to CC rises as well. Do not force engages on your own. The basic pattern is to wait for an ally's knock-up and follow it with Ult.

Yasuo Teamfights

Follow your team's knock-ups with Ult onto the enemy backline and kill the carry quickly; that is your main goal. In the chaos, place Wind Wall where it cuts off the enemy marksman's damage.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Using every minion for Skill 3 dashes and cutting off your retreat

When you dash in with Skill 3 to trade, avoid using up every minion on the way. You lose the stepping stones you need to get back, and take the counter-attack and minion damage for free. Before a harass, plan a route that leaves one or two enemy minions for the dash back.

Yasuo Combos

Basic Trade

Dash through minions to close in, chain Skill 3 into the spin from Skill 1, then get out.

Resolve: Moving builds Flow, which is tracked on Yasuo's resource bar. At max Flow, damage from a champion or monster grants a shield that absorbs 77 damage (Lv) and lasts 1 seconds.

Intent: Yasuo's Critical Rate is doubled.

Gains 0.5 bonus AD for every 1% Critical Rate above 100%.

Steel Tempest is treated as an attack: it can Critically Strike for 75% bonus damage and applies on-hit effects to all units hit. Cooldown and cast time are reduced by Attack Speed.

Nerf

Way of the Wanderer

  • Excess Critical Rate to Attack Damage conversion ratio0.6 → 0.5
  • Yasuo's basic attacks and (1) ability crits deal 90% of normal critical strike damage.

Last Breath

  • Damage250 / 400 / 550 + 160% bonus Attack Damage → 200 / 350 / 500 + 150% bonus Attack Damage

Our take

The conversion of excess Critical Rate into Attack Damage falls from 0.6 to 0.5, and his critical strikes deal 90% of normal Critical Damage — a give-back for base Critical Damage rising to 200%.

Last Breath loses 50 base damage and 10 points of bonus AD ratio.

Adjust

Ronin Road

  • Shield115-600 (scaling with critical rate and champion level) → 125-680 (scaling with champion level)
  • The shield builds more slowly early and more quickly late (roughly +-10%).

Wind Wall

  • Cooldown18/18/18/18s → 22/20/18/16s

Sweeping Blade

  • Damage amplification stacks from consecutive attacks2 → 3 (maximum amplification unchanged at 75%)

Last Breath

  • Bonus40% AR penetration rate → 55% bonus AR penetration rate

Our take

Cutting critical rate out of the shield makes it reliable long before Yasuo finishes his items. Wind Wall pays for that, though: four extra seconds at rank 1 means a casually placed wall early leaves him without it for the next fight. Sweeping Blade needs one more attack to reach maximum amplification, so short trades hit softer than they used to. And because the ultimate's penetration only touches bonus AR, his finish on unarmoured backliners weakens while armoured targets take the full 55%, which cuts deeper than before.

Nerf

Sweeping Blade

Base damage reduced

Last Breath

  • AR Penetration50% → 40%

Our take

Sweeping Blade is Yasuo's laning phase — dashing off minions to close the gap while chipping the enemy down. With its base damage lowered, winning the lane through repeated trades takes longer. Last Breath dropping from 50% to 40% AR Penetration also softens his payoff after a knock-up, so a target who has bought a single armor item can now sometimes survive the full combo.
